Faith in American Society

The importance of keeping the faith in growing with America cannot be emphasized enough. The United States is a very tolerant of diverse religion that their citizens uphold. No laws are made favoring one religion but everyone is respected for their own religious beliefs.

Mankind is growing stronger in many aspects by the day.  Humans find ways to make themselves better physically, emotionally, and mentally. Each day becomes a day to prove to one’s own self that there is so much humanity can do. Yet, as humanity gains more control over their lives, the spirituality weakens somehow. This is not to say that strengthening one’s faculties to live a full life is against religion. However, the reality is that many people are eliminating or taking religion for granted because they think they can build their lives without it.

Look everywhere and you will see how much humans have achieved. Long ago, tuberculosis was a deadly and fatal disease. Now, it is barely a cause of death. Long-distance communication was barely possible before. Now, you can just switch on the computer and talk to a person live, through the use of a speedy internet connection and a camera.

However, you must admit that there are some things that you cannot control. Take cancer for example. Medicine and science have come up with different ways of curing it such as radiation, oral chemotherapy, and other alternative treatments. It works on some patients. They go on remission and get a second lease in life. However, there are others who don’t survive in spite of numerous treatments.

Another example would be security measures that human beings take just to keep their family secure. Smoke detectors, burglar devices, and other technological devices have been invented to keep properties secure. Yet, one way or another, something goes wrong. Perpetrators and terrorists just seem to find ways of unlocking security measures.

There are many events in humanity that cannot be explained or predicted by science. Even if they try to cover all grounds, uncertainty will always be permanent. This is where faith in God comes in. Science and technology can predict certain events but it will not give strength when things don’t turn out as expected. God never promised a smooth-sailing lifetime for each one. However, he promised strength, courage, and salvation for those who keep their faith.

People who keep their faith often have a stronger fighting spirit and a brighter flame that inspires everyone else to persevere in whatever they’re going through. Faith in God goes beyond what the magnificence of science and the human mind.
